PCO_2167Dr. William Nickey (Emeritus) is the Co-Founder of Metropolitan Nephrology Associates, and Professor and Co-Chair of the Division of Nephrology at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Nickey has numerous publications that have advanced the practice of medicine. He has written for The Joint National Committee Report of Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure (JNC III through JNC VII).

After completing his undergraduate studies at Temple University, Dr. Nickey received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from PCOM in 1966. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Metropolitan Hospital – Central Division, where he served as Chief Resident. He then completed his fellowship in nephrology and hypertension at Hahnemann University Hospital and Medical College in 1971, becoming the first D.O. in Nephrology in the East Coast.

Dr. Nickey has dedicated his career to training medical students, residents, and fellows. He has served numerous positions with PCOM, New York College of Osteopthic Medicine, and the former Metropolitan Hospital-Central Division. He currently serves as Medical Director of FMC Parkview Dialysis. He is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists, a member of the Gillium Society of Master Fellows of the American College of Osteopathic Internists, and a Fellow of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia.
